“Unlimited meetings” is a marketing phrase, not a specification. Two vendors can both use it truthfully and deliver completely different products. Zoom, for example, describes unlimited free meetings with a 40-minute duration limit, while its paid Pro plan has a 30-hour limit per meeting. Its current plan details make the distinction clear.
Here are the questions that separate them. Ask all seven of any vendor you are evaluating, including us.
1. Unlimited meetings, or unlimited minutes?
These are not the same claim. Some platforms let you start as many meetings as you like but cap how long each one runs. Others cap the total hours across your account per month. Both can be described as “unlimited meetings” without technically lying.
Ask: Is there a maximum duration on a single meeting, and is there a monthly cap on total meeting time across the account?
Our answer: No to both, on every plan. There is no time limit on an AONMeetings meeting and no monthly pool of minutes to run down. The ₹179 Starter plan is not time-restricted any differently than the ₹1,522 plan.
2. Unlimited for whom?
A plan can offer unlimited meetings while restricting how many people join one. If your all-hands is 60 people and the cap is 50, unlimited is irrelevant to you.
Ask: What is the participant limit per meeting on the specific plan being quoted, not the top-tier plan on the pricing page?
Our answer: 10 on Starter (₹179), 25 on Professional (₹359), 100 on Business (₹629), 250 on Enterprise (₹1,522). That ladder is published, not quoted on request. It is also the main thing that changes between our tiers. Meeting length and webinar access are the same at every level.
3. Does “unlimited” include webinars?
This is where most buyers get caught. Meetings and webinars are often separate products with separate pricing, and the unlimited claim usually applies only to the first.
On AONMeetings, webinar functionality is included with every plan rather than sold as a separate licence. Be clear-eyed about capacity, though: webinar audience size follows your plan tier, 10 on Starter, 25 on Professional, 100 on Business, 250 on Enterprise. If you are on Starter, you have webinar tooling for a group of ten, which is a briefing, not a launch event. Add-ons take you to 500, 1,000, 3,000 or 5,000 attendees, available as a one-time purchase or monthly option, so a single annual event does not become a year-round subscription.
Ask: Is a webinar a different licence? What audience size does my tier actually allow, and what does a 500-attendee session cost?
4. Does everyone need to install something?
Unlimited meetings that a third of your participants cannot join are not unlimited in any useful sense. Downloads are a real barrier when you are meeting people outside your organisation: clients on managed corporate laptops, hospital staff on locked-down desktops, government offices on older machines.
AONMeetings is browser-native. Participants click the link and they are in. No installer, no admin rights, no update prompt at the worst possible moment.
Ask: Can a first-time external participant join from a browser, on a machine where they cannot install software?
5. What happens to recordings and storage?
Recording is where “unlimited” quietly becomes “unlimited until you run out of storage.” Plenty of platforms give you unrestricted meeting time and then meter what you keep.
Ask: How much recording storage comes with the plan, what happens when it fills, and what does more cost?
Our answer: 1 GB per licensed user, and recordings are downloadable. It scales with your team rather than sitting as a single fixed bucket: a 12-seat account is provisioned 12 GB, not 1 GB. We treat cloud storage as a staging area rather than an archive. You pull the file down and keep it wherever your business already keeps files, which for most teams is somewhere they control and can search. If you were counting on the platform to be your permanent recording library, say so during evaluation and we will talk about it directly rather than let you find out in month three.
6. Is compliance a feature or a tier?
Many platforms treat regulatory compliance as an enterprise upsell. If you are in healthcare, that means the entry-level plan is unusable regardless of what it costs.
AONMeetings includes HIPAA compliance on all plans, and a BAA is available on every plan, not just the top one. AONMeetings maintains its own HIPAA compliance programme rather than inheriting one from an upstream vendor.
Ask: Is compliance included at the tier I am buying, and will you sign a BAA on that tier?
7. Where does the data actually live?
Data residency is increasingly the first question Indian enterprise and public-sector buyers ask, and it is the one vendors are vaguest about.
Our current position, stated plainly: AON Rooms License deployments are hosted in India, on AWS Mumbai. Standard plan data is currently stored in the United States, in named AWS regions we will disclose on request. We are extending in-country residency to all plans and have a dedicated India instance in build with data resident in India.
We would rather tell you that now than have you discover it during a security review. Read the full data residency position before making it a procurement requirement.
Ask: Name the cloud provider and the region. Ask for it in writing. A vendor who cannot answer this in one sentence has not thought about it.
Why we published this
Three of these seven questions have answers we are still improving. Publishing the list anyway is a calculated bet: buyers who ask hard questions make better long-term customers than buyers who do not.
If you run this list against your current vendor and they come out ahead, you have spent ten minutes and learned something useful. If they do not, our plans start at ₹179 per user per month, exclusive of GST, with a 7-day free trial on the Starter plan.
